Nativity Event, December 5, 2016

Anywaaaaay, this week was super good! We have a zone focus of getting 3 new investigators each week, we have been the only companionship to reach that goal both weeks. This past week we got 4 new investigators! We still aren't sure how much potential they have because they are in the very early stages, but we are so excited about them.

I want to tell the story of how we found one of them. Last Wednesday we had planned a specific time and place to go tracting after dinner. As the day went on, neither of us were feeling very well, but we had prayed for this time and place so we decided to tough it out. The first door we knocked on, no one answered. The second door we knocked on, after waiting for a minute, a very nice young woman, Chelsea, answered the door. We started telling her about a Nativity event that was being held at our church. She invited us right into her home so we could tell her more. We told her that there would be over 200 Nativity sets and a live Nativity and live music. She said it sounded really cool and would love to go! Since we were already in the house, we asked if we could show her the "Light the World" video. She said yes and called her two young daughters in to watch it too. They loved it! We told them about the service calendar on Mormon.org and they said they had been looking for something like that to do this Christmas season. She told us that we could come back anytime we want and we are always welcome. She kept offering us water and even offered us a ride home before she knew we had a car. Chelsea is sooo nice and we have a lot of hope in her! The other new investigators are super cool too! I'll tell about them in the future or something.

I don't want to make this email super long, but I just want to tell a little more about the Nativity event we had this past weekend. They had 280 nativity sets from all around the world set up around the church. There was a live nativity with a youth choir, and other live music throughout the whole thing. The spirit there was so strong and it was so cool to see Christians from all around the community come together to celebrate the birth of our Savior. That's the reason for the season. There would be no Christmas without Christ. This Christmas season, remember the true meaning of Christmas and don't get too caught up in all of the worldly things. I love you all and hope you have a great week.
